Steps to Take Now So Someone Doesn’t Get Ahold of Your Personal Info
By Brad Burd
Tip #1
Use a letters and numbers in your password; not just 4 numbers
10/10 Security experts recommend using number and letters in your iPhone password.
It’s easier for an intruder to hack a 4 number password, AND they will have access to all the personal things you keep on a phone that you wouldn’t have had on your computer. Plus you don’t just keep your iPhone at home on a desk, so it’s a lot easier to fall in the wrong persons hands.
To use a password with numbers and letters:
1 From the home screen click settings
2 General
3 go to Passcode Lock
4 Simple Passcode is on by default, turn this off.
You will now be presented with an option to create a password that includes letters, numbers and symbols.
Tip: To make it easy to come up with a secure password think of how your password or and easy phrase can be altered to have numbers and symbols e.g.:
Important = 1mp0rt@nt
Steaksauce = $teak5auce
These are highly secure passwords, yet still very easy to remember.
Tip #2
Even with your phone locked with a password a thief can still rack up your bill!
This is one of those things that 90%+ of people just don’t realize when it comes to their iPhone. And it’s a big deal.
So you have your iPhone secured with a password and you lose it. Anyone can simply take the SIM card out of your “secured” iPhone and throw it into another phone (it doesn’t even have to be an iPhone) and then you are charged for the minutes, text, downloads etc that person does with your SIM card!
Fortunately there is a way to secure even you SIM card, as well as your phone. Doing this will make is so any phone will ask for your secret PIN for you SIM card whenever your SIM inserted into another phone:
1 Go to Settings from the home screen
2 got o Phone
3 Go to SIM PIN and you will be able to create a 4 digit PIN
