Battery Almost Dead? 4 Steps To Make That Last Bar Last

What do you do when you find you iPhones batter meter just turned to one red bar. Somehow it always seems to do this when you need you phone to work the most, when you’re expecting an important call. Luckily there are a few things you can do to make that last bar last.

We already have an article about how to improve the battery life during normal use here but here are some additional things to turn off that will make it last even longer if you don’t need to be able to surf the web.

Disable 3g

1 From the homes screen go to Settings

2 Go to General

3 Go to Network

4 turn ‘Enable 3G’ to off

Turn Notifications Off

1 From the home screen go to Settings

2 Go to Notifications

3 Turn Notifications off

Close Apps Before Locking

Make sure you are on the home screen when you lock your phone, as discussed here.

If you’ll need to make a call soon but don’t need to receive calls do the following to make the most of your battery life:

Turn on Airplane Mode

1 From the home screen go to Settings

2 Turn Airplane mode to off

Don’t turn the phone totally off instead– you’ll waste more battery life try to boot it up than you’ll save with it off.

Airplane mode will make sure you batter power is conserved and no power will be wasted on the antenna keeping a signal; an iPhone can be have power for weeks if not being used in this mode.

When you ready to make a call simply turn airplane mode back off.
